Sexual Abuse

Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse is uncomfortable to talk about, but we have counselors who are trained to work with survivors to move beyond victimization and to reclaim themselves, their self-esteem and their lives.

Call us at 231-775-7299 to make an appointment to meet with one of our counselors.

Each year, OASIS/FRC provides services in Wexford and Missaukee counties to over 250 victims of sexual assault, approximately half of them children.

Nearly 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men reported experiencing rape at some time in their lives.

Every 6 minutes a woman is raped in this country.

Most rapes are committed by someone the victim knows.

Most rapes are not reported.

27% of women and 16% of men have been the victims of childhood sexual abuse.

From the team behind THE INVISIBLE WAR, comes a startling exposé of rape crimes on U.S. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the brutal social toll on victims and their families. Weaving together verité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows survivors as they pursue their education while fighting for justice — despite harsh retaliation, harassment and pushback at every level.
