Family Resource Center
The Family Resource Center houses the administrative offices for all three agency
sites: the OASIS shelter, the Second Chance Store and the Family Resource Programs.
Classes, seminars and resource materials on a variety of topics are offered
to the public at the FRC. Parenting classes and children's support groups are
offered at the site and in the local elementary schools. Programs offered include:
Banana Splits, Volcano in My Tummy and Strong Girls
Club.
The Family Resource Center has meeting spaces available for various groups from
two persons to thirty people.
This program is designed to work with families in conflict who have children
less than 4 years of age. Each family receives intensive home visits by qualified
staff. Both the parent's and their children's needs are addressed. Recreational,
family-centered activities are offered by "Family Links", providing safe and
inexpensive opportunities for the parents and their children to have positive
interactions. Respite opportunities are also provided to parents. Family needs
for miscellaneous supplies or equipment are provided on a limited basis. A Parent
Support Group is provided to help decrease the isolation of these parents.
