This 24 hour Crisis Line is staffed by advocates trained in crisis
management and domestic violence.
We provide a 16 bed shelter house for victims of domestic violence,
sexual assault and homelessness. This home is located in a

Alternatives to Violence is an educational counseling group for men who batter, folcusing on understanding male violence, power and control and exploring and practicing alternatives.
Trained advocates inform clients of their legal and financial rights and options
through police, court, and social services procedures. Clients are also referred
to community agencies for help with counseling, legal, financial, housing, educational,
employment and medical needs.
Trained staff from OASIS/Family Resource Center are available for speaking engagements
on a variety of topics. These programs focus on prevention, awareness and general
education of dating violence, sexual assault, parenting, stress management, conflict
management and domestic violence issues.
This program, initiated by Wonderland Humane Society in cooperation with OASIS/FRC,
shelters
pets
for
women
and
their
children
who
are
victims
of
domestic
violence or homelessness who are staying at OASIS. For

Private counseling is available for victims of domestic violence
or sexual assault who are residing in shelter or in the community.
All counseling is free of charge and is provided by licensed

The Legal Advocate provides assistance with obtaining Personal Protection Orders,
attends court hearings with survivors, and may act as a liaison for survivors
with the law enforcement community. Also provided is an emergency On-Call Team
to respond to survivors immediately following an arrest in a domestic or sexual
assault case. The On-Call Team is available to meet with survivors in the hospital
or police department.
Services offered to
children at shelter specific to each child's experiences and needs. Activities
are planned on a weekly basis and contact with an advocate is available daily
during the week. Individual counseling sessions are possible either at shelter
or at the Family Resource Center with one of our staff advocates or counselors.
Three Support Groups are offered each week for both residential and non-residential
women. There is an evening group and a day group, both offered at the Family
Resource Center in Cadillac. There is also an evening group offered in Lake City.

Missaukee Rural Outreach Program targets services to victims of domestic violence
and sexual assault from rural Missaukee County. The goals of this program are
to reduce isolation, increase knowledge of services and options, and increase
use of agency services. An office for this program is located in the First Presbyterian
Church in Lake City. The Rural Advocate provides a Women's Empowerment Group
as well as non-residential counseling services.
OASIS/FRC provides nine scattered site units of housing for victims of domestic
violence with children. These individual units may be occupied for up to 24 months,
and are supported by a host of services which are offered free of charge to the
