is committed to using an empowerment-based philosophy in its approach
to ending domestic violence. To this end, the self determination
and empowerment of survivors is to be promoted with each individual
given respect and encouraged to take control over her individual
life.
Domestic violence has been tolerated for too long in our society.
The act or threat of violence is not an acceptable means of resolving
any personal conflict. Domestic violence is damaging to those individuals
directly involved and to society as a whole. It is criminal conduct
that cannot be tolerated. Prevention through education, advocacy
an appropriate intervention is the ultimate goal. All survivors should
be provided safety and must be treated with dignity and respect.
The agency shall provide a safe, violence-free environment for survivors
and their children. It shall promote a caring, non-judgmental environment
in which all those seeking services can work toward self-identified
goals. Survivors will have an opportunity to grown in areas of self-confidence,
self-understanding, parenting, problem resolution an communication.

that do not blame the victim, and hold the abuser accountable for
their actions. To acheive this on a societal level, this agency is
committed to working with other community agencies to advocate for
and empower survivors.

regarding family issues. To this end, we are committed to identifying
family strengths and assisting families in building upon those strengths
to work toward self-identified goals.

in building strong families. To assist families in meeting their
needs, this agency is committed to establishing community connections
and coordinating community resources that can be of assistance to
families.

this end, we are committed to identifying family strengths and assisting

Cadillac Area OASIS/Family Resource
Center acknowledges the myriad of personal and societal situations
which may impact homelessness, including mental illness, lack of
family support systems, lack of life skills, economic conditions
and lack of affordable housing. To this end, we are committed to
working with other community agencies to advocate for and empower
homeless individuals and families.
A board of directors governs our agency. Board members are chosen
for two-year terms. The Board Members serve voluntarily; meeting
monthly and contributing their expertise, energy and time to
ensure that all services and procedures of OASIS/Family Resource
Center are carried out in a professional and ethical manner.
